My husband gave this to me for my birthday. And I thought, "huh?" I do get text messages from the MBTA to see how trains are running so I know, if I need to ride it, if there are delays. But it's not due to any particular fascination with the subway system. But...
We set it up together, connected it, put it on my desk. We are *fascinated*, both of us! It's a little like watching a living thing, seeing the progress (or lack thereof!) of trains in the system. At first my husband thought that perhaps the board wasn't working correctly, because the northernmost Green Line branch was showing no train activity. Nope: I looked it up: service on that line was suspended until the 20th of the month and sure enough, on the 20th, the branch showed activity on Traintrackr. If we get up in the night we take a quick look at the board to see how the system's running, depending on the time... We've showed it to friends and they're equally fascinated. A very fun product, and a wonderful birthday gift!

With this traintrackr I can re-live my days of when I used to dispatch! It is really cool. I particularly love the boards with the double-track for both directions. I wish there was a NYC version of that, but with so many lines I can see why there isn't. Also I hope you keep making more cities. I'd love to see one for SEPTA in Philadelphia and the Montreal Metro. I also really love the night mode.
